James and Thomas Lindesay are British brothers in Beijing.   Last year, they spent months traveling the Great Wall of China on foot. The two started from the Jiayuguan Pass in Gansu Province on July 15th. It took them 131 days to arrive at the Shanhaiguan Pass. There the Wall meets the sea. Their Great Wall trip is 3263 kilometers.     

詹姆斯·林赛和托马斯·林赛是居住在北京的英国兄弟。去年，他们花了数月时间徒步中国长城。两人于7月15日从甘肃省嘉峪关出发，历时131天抵达长城入海口山海关。他们的这段长城之旅全长3263公里。

The brothers’ interest in traveling the Wall came from their father William Lindesay. William was born in 1956 in the UK and had a dream of visiting the Great Wall From an early age. In 1987, he finally went on a trip there. After that, William married （娶）a Chinese woman and lived in Beijing. From then on, villagers living at the foot of the Wall often saw the tall, silver-haired man collecting rubbish along the Wall . He loved this great structure（建筑）a lot, so he tried to help clean and protect it. William also wroth ten books on the Great Wall.     

兄弟俩对探索长城的兴趣源自他们的父亲威廉·林赛。威廉1956年出生于英国，自幼便怀有探访长城的梦想。1987年，他终于实现了这个夙愿。此后，威廉迎娶了中国妻子并定居北京。从此，住在长城脚下的村民经常看到这位身材高大、满头银发的男子沿长城捡拾垃圾。出于对这座伟大建筑的深爱，他自发开展清洁保护工作。威廉还撰写了十本关于长城的著作。

William’s work influenced（影响）his two sons. Even as children, they spent most of their weekends walking and taking pictures of the Wall. In 2016, the Lindesay brothers started to make videos to protect the Wall. But they thought that was not enough. They wanted to follow in their father’s footsteps and experience the structure themselves, so their trip along the Wall began.     

父亲的行为深深影响着两个儿子。孩童时期，他们大部分周末时光都在长城徒步和拍摄中度过。2016年，林赛兄弟开始通过制作视频来记录和保护长城。但他们认为这还不够，渴望追随父亲的脚步亲身体验这座伟大建筑，于是开启了这场长城徒步之旅。

The brother said the trip was not as easy as they thought before setting off. But the experience gave them a better understanding of the Wall and the history behind it.
